Nice walk around the lake which you can make as short or long as you like. Big park for the kiddies which is great, lots of different activities. The Dragonfly Cafe is great too, good food and cakes but a little small when it comes to indoor seating. The downside is the paid parking!
Great place for a walk, dog friendly. There's a waterside centre where you can rent various boats but prices are quite expensive. The main lake offers a walk of about an hour at a fairly leisurely pace. Fisherman are often along the way around the lake. The caf is nice, doesn't serve much (if any) hot food but a good range of cold beverages, cakes and hot drinks. Car park is pay and display but fairly reasonable for the area, but you do need to have a rough idea of how long you wish to stay before adventuring off.
This is a really good country park for all ages, from toddler to elderly. A modern play area for kids or all abilities, lots benches to sit and chill, a great cafe and lovely walks. You have to pay to park but it's not too much. You can fish the lakes if you're into that too . Great place.
Lovely park for a walk. It has the most wonderful kids playground, the likes of which I've not seen elsewhere. Hours of fun. Entry to the park is free, but there is a hourly charge for parking a car, up to 6 (I think). There is a caf for ice cream and drinks, but the cakes were very dry, the kids didn't eat them. Much nicer, and as I recall cheaper, than another Country Park within a few miles.
It's a lovely place, a hidden country stroll around lakes right near Central Reading. The paths are flat so it's an easy walk for any ability (our children didn't complain) and it's well signposted. The adventure playground is extensive, well maintained and while is aimed at younger children, has some activities like some great climbing wall trees that are for the older ones. Ours (6&4) absolutely loved it. The cafe serves a great range of food, all looked very good - we had tea and cake. Only downside is the parking is a bit steep (cash or RingGo), but that doesn't detract from a fine afternoon out in the autumn sunshine.
