Improving my review / ratingrin light of recent improvements. That being: the Staff! From reception to poolside, they now engage. These new arrivals know that the pool isn't great, explaining that it's ticking Iver until the refurb. But they also seem to be enjoying this jobs, even on poolside (which is honestly the most boring job ever as a lifeguard.)There's still only the one till on reception udually but recently at least the queue gas has moved along, as non-entry queries are wisely referred to another colleague (mostly). The showers remain hit and miss, but there's usually more than half working.The big slide is out of action, never to return. Same for the small jacuzzi pool it seems.Next, to try the gym...
Opening times on website are never correct. They are often closing due to lifeguard shortages. Always have swimming lessons on which closes a whole pool and the teachers are rude to public. Pool is pretty cold too. Its nice for toddlers but any older then you are best going to other pools nearby.
Could be brilliant but sadly always having issues. Our children have swim classes and we have had some excellent teachers and some pointless teachers who never even bothered to show up to work, So the kids never progressed. This went on for a year!!! From a hygine perspective both kids have caught a verruca and my baby was covered in urine from being strapped into a seat in the changing room that had not been throughly cleaned. These are isolated incidents but met with nonchalance by some staff. We still go, we still hope for improvements!
If you would like to experience the following! pleasse use this leisure center!Disgustingly dirty changing rooms,Dirty flooring in changing rooms, Incident where swimming instructor was rude to my wife for using her phone (manners dont cost a thing)Incident for 5 days with no hot water in showers (which means dirty pool)Incident for 2/3 days where lighting had brokenIncident for 2/3 where electrical faultIncident where toilets were out of order, had to use disabled which had an inch deep puddle across the whole floor.Hair floating in the pool every day Dirt build up under the pool ladders.Just to add with all of these incidents, not even a single notice on apparently their live website to inform people the pool is closed, causing wasted time and journeys!
100% the best indoor swimming pool near our home in Crowthorne but elsewhere I have definitely seen and swan in better! The pool is a nice and refreshing temperature and even in the freezing cold you don't gasp for breath when u first jump in! Staff are smiley which is always a positive but showers and overall cleanliness of the pool and surroundings could do with a make over.The flume is always broken as well so that needs fixing big time.
