The holiday inn is lovely, clean and the staff were well presented and extremely polite and helpful upon check in. We booked a double room which, again, was pleasant although the pillows on the thin side.We decided that we would have dinner at the hotel restaurant and obviously we expected the same high standard there as the rest of the Hotel. Unfortunately, we were to be very disappointed. We both ordered soup which was tasty and gluten free bread was hard on the outside and looked like a bite was taken out of it .We ordered the chicken and the duck. Both meats were exceptionally salty and the vegetables pretty much non existent. There appeared to be a problem with the waitering staff that evening as we were given three wrong meals before our actual order came. The couple sitting on the next table to us were served there sweet and they only had just been seated and had not even ordered. We did not complain because it was hobsons choice if the main meals would have be replaced by something else ,And we were only there for one night .Breakfast seemed to be very nice , I did notice the pork sausages had a strange taste however.Unfortunately when we arrived home around midday , Very bad tummy upsets but it was very unpleasant and something i have never experienced before .I contacted the hotel with my concerns but rather than address of the points raised in my email to them, they merely praised their staff and gave me a blow by blow account of the covers taken that night in the restaurant. To be frank, other customer's meals and their enjoyment was not the crux of the matter. What was, was the fact that our meal was not up to standard and neither of us were happy , upset tummies from the evening meal or breakfast were to follow,. This issue hasn't been addressed or even really acknowledged by the Hotel.I was offered a free upgrade on a revisit or our drinks paid for as a good will gesture . So a pint of beer and a glass of wine .I would like to point out that the hotel is spacious and bright and the staff were very helpful. We were just unlucky on this occasion.
Went for spa day was really nice staff very helpful. Was clean tidy. Cream tea was nice.
Booked a package deal which included one night stay, 3 course dinner from set menu, full breakfast and 45 minute spa treatment. Also paid to upgrade to executive room. For the price we paid it was excellent value. Hotel is situated in a business park and very modern. Rooms are of a high standard, spa and pool area well maintained. Treatments were great, and dinner in double AA restaurant was delicious. Staff were helpful and professional. Free on site parking. Only minor grumble was we ordered poached eggs for breakfast and they weren't runny! Overall would give this 4.5 out of 5 based on value for money.
Excellent. Clean. Nice. Great service. Good food. Good bar. Good price. Would come again!!!
Staff are friendly and welcoming and sorted out issues promptly when raised. Amazing rooms with air conditioning and the bed were really comfortable. Very pleased.
